Kid Friendly Protein Cereal Bars



Lots of you have been asking for the notorious protein cereal bars I've been making as a healthy granola bar alternative for my kiddos.


(and lets be honest, I also make them as a treat for my husband and I to enjoy!)


I'm not kidding when I say, these bars are so good that my kids would prefer them over a store bought sugary granola bar and they look forward to their yummy nutritious bar after school!


Its hard to find granola bars that aren't packed full of sugar and that are high in carbohydrates and fat yet non existent in the protein department. Not to mention most are highly processed and packed full of ingredients we can hardly pronounce.


Example: a Nutrigrain bar contains 15g of sugar, 30g of carbohydrates, 3g of fat and only 2g of protein

This is typical among most granola bars you will find in the store.


As I tell many of my clients, if you can control what is going into your foods by making them at home, you will be better off. Knowing exactly what is put into your homemade protein bars, can make you feel confident that you are more in control of your health, and your kids health!

Here are our two favorite protein cereal bar recipes!


Blueberry Muffin Protein Cereal Bars


Ingredients:

2 cups Cheereos

1 measuring cup Blueberry Muffin Level-1

1/2 cup Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter

1/2 cup organic raw Honey


Directions:

Place all ingredients in a bowl, hard place in a pan or baking sheet, and place in freezer for 20 minutes. Once frozen and firm, cut into 12-16 bars and keep in fridge until ready to eat.




Pumpkin Spice Cereal Bars

Ingredients:

2 cups Cinnamon Chex

1 measuring cup Pumpkin Spice Latte Level-1

1/2 cup Smuckers Natural PB

1/2 cup Maple syrup

1 tbsp Cinnamon


Directions:

Place all ingredients in a bowl, hard place in a pan or baking sheet, and place in freezer for 20 minutes. Once frozen and firm, cut into 12-16 bars and keep in fridge until ready to eat.
