I am always preaching top my clients how important meal planning and prepping are for weight loss and ultimate results in your fitness programs.
But here's the deal; you still have to be sure you're not eating too much.
If you're trying to lose weight, portion size and macro balance are absolutely important, not just meal planning and prepping. You don't want to eat too many carbs and fats, and you want to be sure you're eating enough protein.
To make this simple, put away the measuring cups and food scale and look down at your hand.
Using the 'hand method' you can pretty much judge a healthy portion, anytime, any place!
A serving of protein the size of your palm
A serving of carbs the size of your fist
A serving of fat the size of your thumb
See how easy that is! And since large people tend to need larger portions (and more calories) it works for anyone because larger people have larger hands!
So even without having to write down what you eat, enter it into an online tracker or food diary, you can keep yourself accountable and know how to make smart, balanced meal choices.
This is a good place to start if you are very new to eating healthy or just beginning to make lifestyle changes and want to lose weight.
